This game series is my favourite out of all the game series in the world. The older games combine survival horror with puzzles, while the newer ones combine horror with action. The older ones are definitely better in my opinion as those games make you pay for mistakes. Waste to much ammo and you're left with only a knife against creatures you wouldn't want to meet in real life. As for the newer ones, they're still enjoyable but they're just not horror survival anymore. RE4 still had puzzles and was an interesting new game but it wasn't Resident Evil anymore. 5 was just an action game and even though 6 was an action game too, it went a step in the right direction by bringing back the environment that made the older ones so good: close quarters and a whole lot of zombies (well, in Leon's chapter, in Chris and Jake it's much rather 'infected').

Resident Evil 1: you play as Chris Redfield or Jill Valentine. Both are a part of the S.T.A.R.S. (Search Rescue Squad) Alpha team and you're searching for the missing Bravo team. While searching, you get chased by dogs who kill one of your teammates and you end up in a mansion with 3 others. Jill or Chris (depending on who you play), Barry Burton and Albert Wesker. After a bit of investigating the area you find someone hanging over someone lying on the floor. Taking a closer look, it looks like it's someone... or something, eating a corps. While investigating more and more about the mansion and seeing more horrible creatures, you soon find out the sinister plot behind it all. This game was remade for the Gamecube, adding a few more things to the story.

Resident Evil 2: after the coverup of the "Arklay Mountians incident" another event occures regarding the bizarre creatures. But this time it's not just a mansion, it's a whole city! With a population of 100.000, Raccoon City is now like a prison. A lot of people have been turned already and the few survivors that are left are fighting or hiding for their lives. Unsuspectedly, Claire Redfield comes to the city in search for her brother and meets up with a rookie cop named Leon S. Kennedy. As Claire is attacked, she flees and both end up in a car. While driving, a zombie happens to be in the car, freaking both Claire and Leon out and they ram into a pole, causing the zombie to shoot through the window, killing it. But they notice a huge oil tanker coming right at them. They jump out of the car and the oil tanker blows up, seperating both. Now you're on your own and you need to get out of the city.

Resident Evil 3: this follows Jill Valentine who's stuck in Raccoon City. But it's not just zombies who's the enemy here, a large, incredibly strong and fast B.O.W. (bio organic weapon) called 'Nemesis' is hunting down all the S.T.A.R.S. members! Jill needs to get out of there alive as quick as possible while also helping other survivors out of the city.
