What is the tournament all about?
Hey everyone! Welcome to the first ever YCC!
This will be an official, continuous and large scale CEA event.
It will see more participants than any other event on the forum, making it the most prestigious with the highest competition.
YCC will follow the IRL (in real life) tournaments with rounds of swiss, to determine the top brackets leading up until the finals.

Registration/Rules:
This tournament will start on 14th January 2013!
Only members in a dorm can participate.
Entrance fee is 100 DP.
Registration will end on 10th January 2013 12:00 PM GMT.

Each player must PM Lord Melchett or Hostile with an image of the deck they are entering (including side deck)
There will be no deck changing allowed during the event, what you submit is what you stick with.
There will be dedicated judges (non-participants) going through replays to check for any misconduct.
If anyone is found with card not in their submitted image of their deck will be disqualified.
All deck are allowed, except for Burn, Final Countdown, Deck-out decks, Exodia, or Stall.

How will it work:
The tourney will be played in the Swiss rounds method - same as what's going on in the TCG.
Once registration is complete the pairings for round 1 will be posted and players will have 3 days to complete their duels.
Players should make all the efforts to complete their match within the given time period.
If a player is found to be inactive or did not make the effort to get the match played, that player will get an automatic match loss.
This can also be a double loss if both players didn't actively seek to duel.
Full match replays are required in order for a result to be validated.

Once a round is complete the next round will be posted and so on.
Total number of rounds will be determined according to number of participants (The more players, the more rounds).
At the end of the Swiss rounds - there will be a top 8 playoff cut.
The FINAL bracket will contain 8 players and the match ups will be decided by CHALLONGE.

Prizes:
The winner will receive a signature with the title 'YCC Winner 2013' + 1000 DP
The runner up will receive a signature with the title 'YCC Finalist 2013' + 700 DP
3rd and fourth place will receive a signature with the title 'YCC Quarter Finalist 2013' + 400 DP

Notes:
There will be further explanations about the postings and confirmations regarding the matches of each group.
LordMelchett and I will be judges and will thus not be participating in the event.

Shawn sorry to ruin it for ya, but you need to be dormed before you can take part. And you can only be tested for a dorm 2 weeks after joining the forum. Since you joined on the 15th, you'll be eligible for testing on the 29th, the day which registration ends. Because of this, you are VERY unlikely to be able to apply for this, as one of two possible things will most likely happen:
1. Not many people get tested on the first day they are eligible, so you won't be tested in time
2. 40 people will already be registered, meaning you won't be able to apply

Either way, you getting into this tournament is very slim

You can always opt for an instant test if you can earn 300 DP or find someone who's willing to pay the 300 for you. Smile

What happens if we get an awkward number like 37? :/

Thre tournament is swiss, so it shouldn't matter too much. An odd number means someone wouldd get a bye every round? It could end up being useful for inevitable dropouts anyways.

Kind of agree with this too. Also, we're going to have multiple Championships within a year if this takes off. It needs to be more specific...like CEA Championship WINTER 2012. Or simply a numbered series: CEA Championshio #1.

You don't have to "find" DP. You earn it by dueling in BA's. Get to it Razz

Just win 8 BA duels and you'll have 200 DP. xD

I would like to, but I prefer to be rated on my own performance, results and deck construction, maybe I will ask you if I really have no idea for a 2nd deck though and why am I still at 100 DP?
