You need to attempt your homework, show your work, then ask for help. If we just give you a deck, you won't know how it plays or know the finer points of deck-building for future decks. It's like copying the answers on your homework - it looks alright, but when the test comes up, you don't know anything. So show your deck first, and then ask for help. |

I used to be a pro at Yu-Gi-OH! then I left the scene for almost 10 years, when I recently came back, it was a whole new game. I was a total noob. I remember making my first deck on Dueling Network, it's not like at home where you've got your collection, you just sift through, filter out your best cards and continue from there. All the cards in the world are just thrown at you and you've got that search box in the corner to choose them. It was a nightmare, I didn't know where to start. Of course like the majority of noobs out there, I made a crappy Elemental Hero deck and got all exited. My best shot was to Google stuff like “best yugioh deck 2012” (LOL). I would find a good deck recipe and literally copy it and run it. As I played with the deck and discovered new and awesome cards I would put them in and gradually the deck would change. This was as far as my creativity got for a while. Soon, I progressed and learnt the wealth of new cards and strategies and I moved on to researching archetypes on Yu-Gi-Oh! Wikia (your best friend), using the deck skeletons for guidance and making my own decks. As time passed and I became a more advanced duelist, I eventually reached the point where I am now, where I can build decks from scratch and name cards off the top of my head. The search box is now my friend. I'd also like to note that I feel immensely melancholy for the old-school Yu-gi-Oh! How I yearn for the original game back. So I guess the purpose of my life story was to say, urghh, I get where you're coming from? But Stella is right and you can't simply ask the universe to create you a deck. What you can do though, is browse the net (these forums are a good place to start) for a good deck and ask politely if you can use it. From there your feel for the game will develop and you'll slowly but surely go through the phases I did. A good tip (which I thought of a bit too late), is to copy the structure (not starter, those are for total newbies) decks and build on from there. They feature basic strategies and some popular cards in a variety of monster types, so it's up to you to pick your favorite. The easiest place to view the structure decks (as well as a ship load of other useful info) is http://www.yugiohcardguide.com/. Of course I couldn't lecture you without actually giving you a deck. So feel free to use my awesome Chaos Dragons deck (work-in-progress but completely playable): https://chaosera.forumotion.net/t2762-chaos-dragons-deck However, to be honest, it is a bit advanced (runs 1 trap LOL) and I can’t see you benefiting much from it. Feel free to try it out if you wish but I recommend you start off with the things I previously mentioned. I guess this brings me to the end of my lengthy post (I have an exam tomorrow LOL). I wish you the best of luck as you embark your epic Yu-Gi-Oh! Journey and remember: Every expert was once a beginner. |

Everyone who wins consistently net decks to a degree; the good players take what they see and improve upon it, make the deck their own, with unique, crushing combos. My best advice to you is to simply play with what you have; watch and record and re-watch your duels and observe your opponent's combos, til you find one you like, or until you think of a good way to stop all the ones you don't like. Don't be afraid to experiment, even at the cost of your w/l record. You only truly lose if you don't move forward after the game is over. |

Kind regards,
Hostile. True... but we'd like to see his ideas first before helping. The thread needs to focus on a particular deck, but he hasn't given us anything to focus on yet. Right now, he's asked "I need a deck!!!" and we're responding with "What kind?" We're still waiting on the response to that question. |

It's up to him to make himself a better duelist, not us, tbh. |
