Rebirth of Disaster

Disaster Dragon is back... and it has brought some new friends with it. For those who are unaware of what Disaster Dragons are, before the release of Hieratic Dragons, there were 3 main types of Dragon decks: Hopeless, Disaster, and later on Chaos. While both Hopeless and Chaos relied on aggressive play which lead to multiple OTK scenarios, Disaster was an aggressive control deck: meaning that the duelist actually had to know how to use the deck correctly.

It used to be, arguably, the most balanced and skillful Dragon deck but then Konami, like it always does, slapped it on the face with the banlist. We (Disaster Duelists) argued... knowing that if they wanted to hit Chaos Dragons, hitting Red-Eyes wasn't the right move. But let us move on, with the released Suppressor Dragons... we are back!

First off, Suppressor Dragons are 4, Level 7, Dragons with different elements. When they are banished, they can search a Dragon of the same element from the deck to the hand. This gives us the consistency to be able to search whatever card we need, at any situation. Like I mentioned before, this deck is not an auto-pilot deck: it is a deck that takes good judgement and skill to play. Please note that this is a Disaster Build, so please don't give me advice by focusing on other builds such as Rabbit, Plant, Heraldic, Drain, or the more pure Suppressor build: I've tried it all.

Only thing that is disappointing is that at the moment, Light/Dark isn't the primary meta which is what Disaster loves... on the other hand, 1900 isn't bad for a beater either.

I'll update the deck as I go (I have not put up the side and extra on purpose), hopefully some of you will join me in my love for Disaster :p

They sure do seem interesting, and is something I would like to try out (:

I'm not too sure about the extra deck, but I guess it should consist of lvl 7 xyz, and some lvl 4's (for debris use), and could run a catastor and armory arm for flamvell.. Razz

I'll test something out and see how it works Wink

hehe Suppressors r My best new archtype i won Bash with em Yesterday using a Plant engine
im gonna Try and Build a chaos Engine with it aswell and see How it works :O

@ Boattack: The Disaster engine doesn't run enough Suppressors for Sword and even if they did: Disaster shouldn't have any situational cards.

@ Jaaden: Chaos Engine... tell me how that works.

I don't quite get the point of Delta Flyer or the Flamvell Guard..? I would take them out for double D-Prison or an extra Exploder Dragon and another Compulsory.

I'm also curious about why you threw Golem Dragon in there.

EDIT: Derp, read about Flyer >.>....nvm, but I'd still take out the Guard for an extra Exploder

Guard is for level 8 synchro + can be searched by Blaster.
Golem Dragon can be searched by Redox and with Debris (which again, can be searched) gives access to instant rank 4.

A Chaos Engine isn't, and shouldn't be classified as 'Disaster'.

The point of Disaster is with it's great flexibility for any situation and many options: if you are running a Chaos Engine then it is either a Chaos build or a different Suppressor build: not Disaster.

I don't know if it's called Chaos or Disaster, but I use all the 4 suppressors and use much banish.

Okay I'll try and make simple:

Chaos: Light and Dark Monsters - Involves Banishing

Suppressor: At the moment the build focuses on banishing 3-4 of the Suppressors for searching (this is what you have).

Disaster: Is a build that was made a while ago with Wyvern/REDMD/Future Fusion/Koaki Drago. Unlike Chaos, Drago actually is the best anti-chaos card out there. While Chaos and Suppressor focuses on getting out beaters for Disaster its more cards like Masked Dragon: playing smart and then pouncing at once.
