Finally, I was standing in front of the largest universal city in the world of Nekuya, Dueling Network. I stood in awe, staring at the main dueling facility, waiting for the challenges that were awaiting me. Strapped to my arm, was my yellow duel disk, given to me by my long gone grandpa.
“I MADE IT!” I shouted as long as I could. People passing by me, gave me a face like this o.O. I looked back at them.
“People are so judgmental. They don’t know what I had to do get here. Instead they judge people, and never mind that. Let’s go inside.” I was starting to rant in my mind. About to enter the portal, a hologram appeared in front of me.
“Whoa!” I startled by the sight of it. The hologram was a girl, in purple clothing, holding a walkie-talkie. It had red hair.
“Hmm what was this card?” The thought stuck in my mind. “Oh yeah! Little Girl! That’s the card name!” I smiled remembering what my friend told me before.
“Welcome to Dueling Network.” The hologram spoke. “Here, you can enjoy dueling, hang-out, and meet with your friends. We have a large variety of things you can do here, such as make a team, watch people duel, or just a place to hang around. On your duel disk, there is a green button attached, where you can read the rulebook, check rulings, and ask for help from the admin. If you have any questions, go to the Head Admin office, or click the green button for more options. Good-bye!” The hologram disappeared.
I sighed. “She didn’t allow me to ask anything.” Just then a, a small green light formed on my duel disk. After the light faded, a green button appeared on my duel disk.
“This must be what the hologram was talking about. I’m still confused. What am I supposed to do?” I madly scratched my head at the thought of it.
“Hey, calm down dude.” I heard young voice behind me.
“What?!” I turned around, in a fast wide motion. I turned around to see a cool looking guy, with yellow hair. He wore a unique blue and white cloak. Strapped to his arm, was a white duel disk, it seemed very high tech. His eyes were covered by shades. Regardless, he seemed about my age. He could pass as 16.
“I said, you need to calm down.” He smiled at me.
“Yeah….I guess you’re right. I’m just really lost, and don’t really know how to get a place to stay, and how to get around DN. I thought going to DN’s dueling facility might have a place to stay coming here, but I don’t know.” I laughed to stop myself from ranting on.
“Well I could show you around DN. There’s something I wanted to ask you though.” The boy replied.
“What is it?”
“Would you mind joining an academy I made? You can live there if you want, as long as you help me recruit and test more members.”
“Sure, why not? That would help me a lot.” I was being naïve, to believe what this man was saying, but I didn’t have much choice. I didn’t have much to lose….after all.
“Good. As an entrance exam, we must duel 3 times. You cant switch decks after each duel, but after each duel, I have to switch decks. After the 3 duels, you will be given a test score. The score will determine, which dorm you will go into. The dorms are Obelisk Blue, Ra yellow, and Slifer Red. Obelisk being the strongest.”
“Oh I see, just like YGO GX. What’s the name of the academy?”
“Seigaku Duel Academy, SDA. Oh, and I must excuse myself. I didn’t mention my name. My name is .Echizen Ryoma. Yours?”
“My name is Aaron, but you can call me Hope.” I launched my duel disk outward. “Time to duel.”
“Wait.” He laughed. “Let’s not duel somewhere so obvious an noisy. How about a local park?”
“Yeah.” I didn’t realize I was zoning out all the noise going around the dueling facility.
“Alright then, let’s go.” Echizen started walking away from the facility. I followed him. Who knows. Maybe this is the start of something great in my life….
