I am having a problem with downloading Percy or with just running it. Every time I try to open in, it is closed by Data Execution Prevention, and apparently it has to run with DEP on, so sayeth my computer. Basically, I have no idea what I am doing wrong or really what any of this means.

Any insight and/or help would be most appreciated.

This is the first time i've heard of DEP getting in the way of excecuting percival's client but non-the-less, if this problem is persistent after restarting your PC prior, you can add an exception for the program by using System Properties in Control Panel, FOR WINDOWS ONLY. To do this, follow these steps:

Click Start, click Run, type sysdm.cpl, and then click OK.
Click the Advanced tab, click Performance, and then click Settings.
In Performance Options, click the Data Execution Prevention tab, and then click Add.
In the Open dialog box, locate and then click the program.
Click Open, click Apply, and then click OK. When you are prompted to restart your computer, click ok

Try disabling DEP all together then, which is kinda a weird task.

Click Start, and then click Control Panel.
Under Pick a category, click Performance and Maintenance.
Under or Pick a Control Panel icon, click System.
Click the Advanced tab, and in the Startup and Recovery area, click Settings.
In the SystemStartup area, click Edit.
In Notepad, click Edit and then click Find.
In the Find what field, type /noexecute and then click Find Next.
Replace the policy_level (for example, "OptIn" default) with "AlwaysOff" (without the quotes).

***Be sure to enter the text carefully. Your boot.ini file switch should now read:

/noexecute=AlwaysOff
In Notepad, click File and then click Save.
Click OK to close Startup and Recovery.
Click OK to close System Properties and then restart your computer.
This setting does not provide any DEP coverage for any part of the system, regardless of hardware DEP support.

Verifying DEP is Disabled

Click Start, and then click Control Panel.
Under Pick a category, click Performance and Maintenance.
Under or Pick a Control Panel icon, click System.
Click the Advanced tab.
In the Performance area, click Settings and then click Data Execution Prevention.
Verify that the DEP settings are unavailable and then click OK to close Performance Settings.
Click OK to close System Properties then close Performance and Maintenance.

So long as you don't anticipate getting a virus infected program within that time frame, and by the sounds of it, it seems like that was the first time you've seen the DEP, besides, DEP is only useful if you download a virus infested game and THEN try to run it, only then will DEP even help, if you get a virus in general the DEP does nothing, so in turn theres not really much of a risk with it off unless you're downloading some super sketchy game..
