So we all know about the new Lord of the Tachyon Galaxy set. It brings with it many changes, killing some of the previous meta, having support for a number of others, while bringing out some new god-tier at the same time.

Personally I was pretty pissed at this pack, mostly because they released it 5 days before my Nationals, and they've made it legal, meaning I will most likely see my ass handed to me by all the Evilswarm, Prophecy, and Dragon Ruler decks. Despite that snag, I think I've come to love the set though. The reason being is we don't have many major events here, so instead of forking out more money, I'm able to profit off the set by selling to those wanting the new stuff, I traded for everything in the set I needed like Hootcakes, Kerykeion, and Omega, and it lets me play all the fun and tier 2 decks that I've been neglecting. So now I think this season will be pretty awesome for me.

For the most part I'll be taking a step back from the competitive side of IRL until Sept. I can see how this set will be a pain for all players wanting to continue playing competitively though, and I do sympathize.

So what are your thoughts on the game post Tachyon, or with the Tachyon set in general?

First off, I don't play irl, but I participate in many online wars. I consider myself a pretty competitive player when needed, but I also play random.dek from time to time.

Now as for this pack.. I feel like playing competitively has gotten somewhat more difficult. Most decks you run into right now are Verz, Books and Dragons. Now imagine Dragon mirror matches. Book mirrors. Verz mirrors. Or imagine facing one of those three decks with another less competitive deck.
It's a pain. Not only have those decks, especially Dragons and Books enough power to recover from most fatal blows, but they also screw you over right from the start if you don't open with the appropriate counter measures.

I can't wait for the next banlist, since warring has been quite annoying lately. Sure, I win, because most people have no idea how to correctly play the decks, but then again.. almost anyone should be able to pull off a simple Dragon move or Junon Turbo.
I'd actually love to see Sangan back in action and some of these new overpowered cards hit by the banhammer.

All this pack did was make 2 decks broken and brought out a godlike archetype. It's stupid and pretty much the reason people are stopping to play this game. They released them too soon, though I guess they knew the tier 0 cards will have to be out and practiced in TCG for the world finals; if not for Spellbook of Judgment and Dragon Lords, more decks would be viable at current meta and everything would be far more enjoyable and exciting because of diversity.

With that being said, I too will play a tier 2 deck.

All i'm gonna say is **** Konami.

On the aspect of real life, there's no point in playing competitively, unless you have Shiz ton of money or gonna continue to play mermails, fists, madolche, and new infernity (all you need is lalvalval chain to get started if you still have ur infernity that is). I'm gonna work on madolche and at Least get it up to constant local tops level and just maintain money until the new format as it is all about aggression and otk, or complete lockdown format. Not having diversity hurts the amount of different players and good leeway as well as a larger skill base for learning how to face the numerous accounts of decks hurts konami. But, I won't deny that making these decks forces people to play them for the most part if you want to win in wars. If you say that you will win with your tier 2, and not borderline tier 1, then you are being naive. I like the fact that these 3 decks pretty much balance each other out, even with e dragons being the top of the 3, and they dominate the rest of the tiers, creating a base of players where they have to learn how to face mirrors and those other 2 matchups alone for the most part. Even if people lose for not simply knowing how to use these decks and still losing, it allows the good players in mirrors to stay on top, and those who don't just keep losing.
