So I've tested out YGOPro and it's...wait for it... LEGENDARY.

Though I have two questions.

Is there any way to add friends on yugioh pro and host private duels to play against them?

And I understand that YGOPro hosts tournaments on occasion?
Could anyone please direct me as to where I might find these upcoming tournaments and how to register for them.

Hey man

First off, no you cannot add friends on YGOPro, you can however host private games, and that is what we use Academies for, to arrange with people you meet here to duel, be it for fun, for testing, or you can do Battle Arena duels to play competitively. For most duels you can just speak to people on the chatbox, otherwise we use Skype for the most part for staff chats, team chats, any other group chat, as well as adding people you meet to duel whenever.

You can also do Shadow Arena duels (only once you're in a dorm), these are the same as Battle Arena duels (BA's) but you bet DP for added risk. DP is the forum currency we use. Here's the link:

Then for tournaments, these are all hosted on the academy, we have several types...

Weekly Bash
Every Monday night (8:00pm), this is a 16 person tournament, match format, you can use anything you like.

Deck Roulette
Held every 2nd thursday. This is a themed event, different theme every time, 16 people, match format. You basically have 1 week to register and build a deck based on the current theme, then 1 week to duel through the bracket.

Yu-Gi-Oh! CEA Championship (Y.C.C.)
This is our major event, similar to YCS. It's usually a 64 person tournament held twice a year. This is the most competitive event on the academy.

User Events
Users also buy and host their own events. There is 1 or 2 coming very shortly.

On YGOPro you'll also find a Linux Server, this is a type of ranking system where you can duel and climb up a ladder. Just register a username and password on YGOPro, and you're good to go. It can take some getting used to.

For all events you need to be in a dorm. To do this you get tested by one of the light blue names you'll see around the Academy. A test consists of 2 matches, and will evaluate your dueling and deck building skills, and place you in a dorm of either Slifer, Ra, or Obelisk. To find out how you will be scored, visit this link:

Dragon Rulers are allowed for BA's, SA's, and Weekly Bash. Deck Roulette is themed so we want people to build according to the theme and not just throw in Dragon Rulers.

Okay so, Sabbaticus, since I can't PM you cause I haven't reached my post limit yet (wtf) can you dorm test / duel me please .

As I understand I am not allowed to use dragon rulers so I'll be using my other deck .

I don't test anymore, but I'm still listed since I still write guides, reviews, and articles. I'll set it so you can PM any of the others.

Also, I suggest using 2 decks for testing, as you will get negative points for only using one deck.
