Frog Guide
If you look at the history of yugioh (lol), the Frog archetype has always been quite popular. Until now, the Frogs served as a engine for Monarchs and other Tributes rather than a pure deck by itself. From the old Frognarch, to Perfect Circle, and now to Lancer, with continued support from Konami, Frogs have really come a long way.
Main Cards
Swap Frog (Lv 2, Water, Aqua) You can discard 1 WATER monster to Special Summon this card from your hand. When this card is Summoned, you can select and send 1 Level 2 or lower Aqua-Type WATER monster from your Deck or your side of the field to the Graveyard. Once per turn, you can return 1 monster you control to your hand to Normal Summon 1 "Frog" monster, except "Swap Frog" or "Frog the Jam", in addition to your Normal Summon or Set this turn.
MVP of the deck, you can use it to dump Treeborn or Ronintodin to the grave for future plays. Another, though less frequent way to use Swap Frog is to recycle cards like Caius. Run 3
Dupe Frog (Lv 2, Water, Aqua) This card's name is treated as "Des Frog" while it is face-up on the field. Your opponent cannot select another monster as an attack target. When this card is sent from the field to the Graveyard, you can add 1 "Frog" monster except "Dupe Frog" or "Frog the Jam" from your Deck or Graveyard to your hand.
This is our searcher, when it is sent from the field to the graveyard you can search any frog monster: generally Swap is the one you go for. It can also create a soft lock though generally it isn't used for that purpose. Run 3
Poison Draw Frog (Lv 2, Water, Aqua) When this face-up card on the field is sent to the Graveyard (unless it was attacked while face-down and destroyed by battle), you can draw 1 card.
A Draw Engine for us: there are different opinions about this card but it is definitely useful: it can fetch you a draw, Creature Swap material, or just as a Frog it serves a good purpose for Ronin and Lancer. Run 2-3
Treeborn Frog (Lv 1, Water, Aqua) During your Standby Phase, if this card is in your Graveyard and you do not control a face-up "Treeborn Frog": You can Special Summon this card. You must control no Spell/Trap Cards to activate and to resolve this effect.
Frogs wouldn't have existed without this small fellow: a monster every turn and with Enemy Controller and Creature Swap, it can really change the tides. (Not bad as a extra wall either). Run 1-2
Ronintoadin (Lv 2, Water, Aqua) This card's name is treated as "Des Frog" while face-up on the field. You can remove from play 1 "Frog" monster in your Graveyard, except "Frog the Jam", to Special Summon this card from your Graveyard. This card cannot be used as a Synchro Material Monster.
Tribute Fodder, XYZ plays for Rank 2s, important to the deck and after Treeborn, you will be wanting to send this guy to the grave with Swap. Run 2-3
Sea Lancer (Lv 5, Water, Beast-Warrior) You can target any number of your banished Fish, Sea Serpent, and Aqua-Type monsters; equip them to this card. This effect can only be used once while this card is face-up on the field. If this face-up card on the field would be destroyed, you can destroy 1 of those cards, instead. This card gains 1000 ATK while equipped with a monster(s) by this effect.
Boss monster for Lancer build, with 3-5 equipped monsters he will be hard to get rid of, just be careful with compulsory and Dimensional Prison. Also important to note if you have Poison Draw Frog/Dupe Frog attached, they will gain their effects when sent to the graveyard.
Other Cards
Now there are many cards here: I will just put down the main ones used in nearly all builds.
Caius the Shadow Monarch Raiza the Storm Monarch Mobius the Frost Monarch Thestalos the Firestorm Monarch Jinzo Dark Dust Spirit Light and Darkness Dragon Obelisk the Tormentor Vanity's Fiend Gorz, the Emissary of Darkness Tragoedia Battle Fader
Creature Swap Enemy Controller Foolish burial Salvage Surface Lemuria, The Forgotten City
Spiritual Water Art - Aoi Torrential Tribute Treacherous Trap Hole
Deck Skeleton:
Since there are many builds I'll only give the two most well known and most competitive which are Frog Lancer and Frognarch.
Frog Lancer:
2-3 Sea Lancer 3 Swap Frog 1-3 Ronintoadin 2-3 Poison Draw Frog 2-3 Dupe Frog 1 Treeborn Frog 0-2 Light and Darkness Dragon 0-3 Caius the Shadow Monarch 1 Gorz the Emissary of Darkness 0-3 Battle Fader 2 Tragoedia 2-3 Enemy Controller 2-3 Creature Swap 2-3 Salvage
Frognarch:
2-3 Dupe Frog 2 Light and Darkness Dragon 3 Caius the Shadow Monarch 3 Raiza the Strom Monarch 1-2 Vanity’s Fiend 1 Dark Dust Spirit 1 Gorz, the emissary of darkness 3 Swap Frog 1-3 Treeborn Frog 1-3 Ronintoadin 3 Battle Fader 3 Enemy Controller 2-3 Soul Exchange
Weakness
Any kind of RFP card (Macro Cosmos, Dimensional Fissure), will totally destroy the deck engine. Other less used cards like Mask of Restrict will also hinder the deck but the main and critical weakness is RFP.
Side cards
Macro Cosmos D.D. Crow Necrovalley (Won't stop Treeborn)

Another good trap that can be used in this deck is Treacherous Trap Hole. |

| Subject: Re: Frog Guide Sat Jul 06, 2013 5:42 pm | Topped with frognarchs a Regional and a National this season. they are my favourite deck from years ago, and have so many different styles.
Cards you didn't mention for frognarchs: Obelisk - GG against ED, wrecks a lot of decks and a huge surprise in general, although not against any catastor one which can be mermail, samurai, karakuri, or even heroes with exculiber. Illusory Snatcher - finally the deck got a solution for the '1 monarch a turn' slow playstyle. your opponent veilers, fiendish or BS? bring gauntlet launcher and destroy 2 moneters(togheter with ECON\SoulEx it's an easy 3). gives a ptolemy play which recycle cards like caius! and makes mobius a card that can't be neagated by starlight! overall adds a lot of speed to a slow deck, in a very fast format. Triforctretops - (1. another hand-trap that stops otk, but stays in hand unlike scarecrow, uneffected by big-eye, bahamut, dracosack and so (2 .can chain himself to shock master eff and help when opponent bring dweler (3. evilswarm can easely bahamut your monarch for 5K and finish games fast, this card prevent that, and also make your opp go for ophion more which might be good for monarch a lot of times (4. another tribute for obelisk (5. doesn't die from your own DDS
Stuff i need to point out: Dupe Frog to 1, the deck got 6 ways for treeborn and 7 is almsot perfect, if you afraid that much then maximum 2 but i won't advise that. Treeborn Frog to 3, no argue on that. you draw no frog? you lost. i won so many games with 3 frogs opening hand(cause i also make sure i got tons of monarchs to draw so they will fix that) Ronin to 1. you dont got enough frogs to abuse 2, and even when you get alll your frogs to the grave, which not happens too much and only with swap and friends, even then having 2 ronin won't do anything, especially if you compare it to the dead draw possibility. Soul EX to 3, cause why i need to explain this? ><

Salvage will maintain your discards necessary, and surface is good too, to maintain field presence and keep swap live. Moray of Greed is the only easily accessible water draw power for the deck, and it can be a dead draw in the scenario you just mentioned, so best to avoid it and focus on replenishing your grave. The deck thins enough that you don't really need draw power, outside of the effect of poison draw frog, that is.
