It has every card in the game up to the latest releases, with it's own banlist which is a sort of mix between OCG and TCG. There's a lot in this game that make it shine, such as cosmetics, crafting, events (coming soon), and solo mode with card lore. Here's a quick breakdown...
Solo ModeThere's a solo mode for beginners to learn some basics as well as some deck strategies with specific archtypes and summoning mechanics. Solo mode also gives lore for some of the cards and archtypes as well as rewards for completing them.
Deck EditorAs always we have a deck editor. Everyone is familiar with this but it has some nice features like being able to build deck with cards you don't have so that you can finalise a recipe before you try get the cards or better yet, craft them. And yes you can craft cards! The system is similar to Hearthstone. Dismantle cards you don't want or have extra of, then use the crafting materials to craft cards you do want.
ShopThere's a shop to buy packs, structures, and cosmetics. The game also has secret packs which you can unlock via crafting an SR/UR or pulling an SR/UR from a specific set. These are mini packs based on archtypes or themes which help pulling specific cards for a deck by isolating the ones you'll likely need for it. Crafting will also give you a free pack pull from a secret set for the first time.
Battle/duel passMost multiplayer games have these now. Earn rewards in the form of cosmetics, crafting materials, and gems as you play and get experience. There's a free version and a gold version which cost a few gems.
CosmeticsThese can be earned or bought from the shop. They range from card sleeves, profile icons, themed duel fields, and companions (which sit next to the field and react based on the game state), as well being visible on your profile.
Ranked modeOutside of Solo Mode and events, the main format of the game is Ranked Mode. Climb from Rookie II to Platinum I. You will always be matched against someone in your coloured rank.
That's about it for now. If you're wondering how 'free-to-play' the game is... you can build between 2-3 decks at the start with all the free gems and pack pulls that you're given and can earn. This includes a tier 1 meta deck with the best cards that would cost a fortune irl. After that you have to play a lot and level up your duel pass to pull/craft more cards for more decks. We'll see when the first few events come how well they reward. Otherwise if you really want more decks or some exclusive cosmetics then you'll need to spend money.
