1x Judgment Dragon
3x Light and Darkness Dragon
1x Dark Armed Dragon
2x Caius
2x Destiny Hero Malicious
2x Celestia, Lightsworn Angel
2x Wulf, Lightsworn Beast
2x Jain, Lightsworn Paladin
1x Lyla, Lightsworn Sorceress
2x Lumina, Lightsworn Summoner
2x Necro Gardna
3x Ryko, Lightsworn Hunter

Spells
3x Solar Recharge
1x Heavy Storm
3x Destiny Draw
1x Mystical Space Typhoon

no need to give me advice ... the royal decrees are in there for a reason .... despite the prisons there ... the idea is to take control of the field and have fun making your opponents cry

Running 3 Destiny DRaw in a deck that tends to *mill out* all of your D-heroes sounds like a recipe for bad hands. You only run 2 destiny heroes to boot.

I'm going to go and be "that guy" and say some things that I hope you'll take into account in order to make this build more consistent.

There's no such card as Destiny Prison. You meant Dimensional Prison?

Why only one Judgment Dragon? If it's because of the issue of dead hands, removing something like Light and Darkness Dragon would be much more beneficial.

Why no Black Luster Envoy? You're using enough darks and lights to make it viable.

Why no Charge of the Light Brigade? I'm assuming the only reason you didn't add it is because you do not know that it exists.

Why no Garoth and Ehren? Both are more names for Judgment Dragon and with Lumina at 2, Garoth is good again.

Why 3 Light and Darkness Dragon? Having two monsters on the field then being able to normal summon is somewhat of a rarity here, in theory. LaDD is more suited for decks that can Special Summon tribute fodder easily, like Frog Monarchs.

I could say more but I'll wait for your response.

yes you can be "that guy"

and yes dimensional prison is the name sorry for my bad memory of yugioh card names

and here are the following answers to your questions

1. only 1 JD needed .... as well as when this deck was played the limit of JD was 1 ... also notice there is no honest in the deck
2. BLS at the time was BANNED and therefore not needed
3. Charge of the Light Brigade .... not out when deck was designed
4. Garoth, didn't like the card in this deck, and Ehren (again when the deck was built, it was not in the game)
5. 3 LaDD .... makes for some fun when your opponent uses spells and traps ... not to mention its a 2800 beat stick to start ... and as far as being in special summon decks ... to each their own

now Nichigo .... yes there are 2 Destiny Hero's in this deck ... yes it is not a complete destiny engine deck ... they are there for clearing decks and drawing cards (yes these cards are more often than not a dead draw)

now aang ... there is an idea to take care of every spell/trap card and make your opponent face your deck with no back row support .... yes it opens up things like Gorz but im sure that this deck could easily take care of Gorz .... so the idea of the deck is kinda control the outcome .. make your opponent play the game you want him/her to play ... keep him / her on the defensive and they are bound to make mistakes of which you could capitalize on

I'm having to be "that other guy" and say some things you will not like, but which you need to know.

It's funny how you say that you don't need advice (which makes the thread pointless imo) but, judging by your deck list, you *do* need advice. Badly. Nichi and Kenshi have pointed out such fundamental issues which, if you don't fix, will make you lose often by bad deck design.

It looks like you built this deck on a game (guessing YO3?); but you are posting here, on CEA, which has a different ban list and a wider card pool (OCG + TCG). Avoiding certain card choices just because "they weren't released/their status was different when I first built this deck" is extremely counter-productive. The wisest way to go about it would have been "ok, I'm aware that when I first built this deck I was under different restrictions (card pool, ban list), so I'm going to post my deck as is and ask people how to improve it with the new cards and new ban list". But saying that you don't need advice? That's not wise at all.

Another thing I found funny was your assumption that your opponents are bound to make mistakes which you can capitalize on. I have 2 things to say about this:

  1. When you play in a competitive environment against people who know what they are doing, you would be surprised at the absence of mistakes. If you play seriously, you can't rely on your opponents making mistakes to win. This will lead you no far.
  2. If your opponents are bound to make mistakes, so are you.

Now onto some specifics of your deck: as other people already pointed out, there are some cards you should definitely add if you want your deck to be better. But leaving that aside, I will focus on the cards which are already in your deck and which are the cause of 2 main issues:

  1. Even in a deck with perfect control of the cards it draws, 3x Destiny Draw and 2x DHero Malicious as your whole Destiny engine is completely flawed. Let's assume you successfully activate your first DDraw on Mali, what will you do next? Will you use Mali's eff to special summon the other Mali from the deck, thus rendering your 2 remaining DDraw completely dead? Or will you wait to draw your 2nd Mali instead in order to use a 2nd DDraw (which still will render your 3rd DDraw dead)? Not to mention that if you do that, you are completely missing the point of the Destiny engine and you would be better off using another engine. Add in the ongoing milling the deck has, and it gets much worse.
  2. 3x Royal Decree + 3x Dimensional Prison. The most I have ever seen is Royal Decree with 2 other traps, and that *can* work, but only in the hands of very skilled players who know exactly what they are doing. I don't know if that is your case, but one thing is for sure: Prison is not the best companion for Decree, let alone when you are running 3x of each.

Last but not least, you are missing some staples (Monster Reborn, Dark Hole-arguable) and at the very least a 2nd MST, which would compliment your Decrees perfectly, especially in games 2 and 3.

So that's all. You may take our advice or ignore it, but regardless of how you feel about it, you definitely need it if you ever want to play competitively and be successful.

ok welcome to the thread ..... first thank you for posting

now as far as me needing "advice" no i dont ... usually because advice is based on personal play styles ... do you know my personal play style? ... not a chance in hell because my play style changes with each deck ... my friends dont give me advice on decks .... they ask questions

as far as the banned list - I retired from yugioh online in 2010 ... around may if i remember correctly ... i quit playing the physical game in 2006 when i started online ... the newer cards / cards that were banned and no longer are banned are ones that i do not include in this deck list because again AT THE TIME they were not playable...

and yo1 and 2 era more than the 2 months i payed in yo3 before i got bored and lost interest in the game

as far as posting this deck to get it updated again personal play style comes into effect there ....

competitive play? .... only competitive play i care about these days are in trading cards is in MTG .... and i havent tried for a pro tour in 3 years ... i play to have a good time ... other than that competitive play is in billiards or drag racing ... or what i do best these days ... dropping off of 30 foot waterfalls in January for fun...

now as far as dead draws .... 2x malicious 3x destiny draw .... no one mentioned the 2 monster reincarnation .. so if needed effectively have 4x malicious and 3x destiny draw ..... oh wait that dont make the 2 ddraw ineffective anymore ..

as far as 3x Decree and 3x Prison ... we will have to agree to disagree ... again most people give "advice" based on play style ... of which only 6 people here that i can think of have dueled me in the past

again on the staple cards ... this is going off an old banned list {dark hole = banned, reborn = banned, bls = banned, mst = limited to 1}
so again thank you for your thoughts ... i hope to continue this conversation if not this one then on the next one

I highly doubt you play competitive MtG based on how terrible your deck building skills are in YuGiOh. I know this sounds rude, but your initial behavior is just that, so why should I be any different? I consider MtG to be much more complex, and without a firm understanding of why this deck fails as is demonstrated by your childish stubborness to listen to good advice on here, it's quite frankly very unlikely that you're even close to competitive Magic.

But if you want to prove me wrong, showcase some of your duels from either game.

i have been playing mtg since 1996 ...

which mtg decks do you want to play? sligh, nine land green? gruul? counter post? stroke of genius? morphling/masticore? a personal favorite and creation of mine was Elvish Train when Ravinca was type 2 ... it was a bit slow at first but if it was able to stabilize it could pump out pretty big creatures .... my favorite is showing up to a friday night magic with land and borrowing a friends rare binder and playing a deck called wrath of the random ... usually cuts top 8 out of 40 ... of course these were at one time type 2 or tier decks ... they dont need "updating" most cant be updated without losing their identity ...

to give you an idea they tried releasing a green version of "ball of lightning" .... it fell flat on its face

they tried a red version of Morphling .... fail

as this is not a mtg forum i will refrain from posting mtg deck lists .... as far as mtg being more complex ... i dont think it is ... i think it is more balanced and there are fewer cards that have a complete change of match when they hit play .... yes there are a few well known cards ... force of will, black lotus .... a few less known cards like silhenna ledgewalker, thrumming stone {fun with ravenous rats} ...

then you have LD decks ... old school strip mines and other cards .... with crucible of the worlds ... strip mine would be fun in type 2

one of my favorite decks is Cursed Scroll ... it was fun ...

ok 1 deck list

1 channel
1 karavek's torch
1 mountain
1 black lotus
4 lotus petals

game set match ... draw 7 cards for opening hand draw 1 card for turn... play the mountain/forest drop the petals ... sac the petals for 2 green {if you dont have the forest} and 2 red, play and sac black lotus for 3 red mana ... so far you have 7 mana in the pool ....play channel ... lose nineteen life {you have 1 life to live} .... the nineteen life is converted to nineteen mana ... you now have 1 life and 24 mana .... use 1 red mana to play kareveks torch using the other 23 for the "X" .... to deal 23 damage turn 1 to your opponent ...

I refrain from playing with the power nine cards. There's too many absurdly broken combos to name... I do however keep in touch with Standard and Modern. I can tell you know, the variety and combos you can pull off in Standard alone are quite a bit more challenging to do so than in YuGiOh with the mana factor. Card Advantage isn't as absurdly critical because of that, so the technical aspects of the game force more prolonged play rather than just having the cards in hand to initiate a combo like in YuGiOh. Although some combos require more steps to fully perform, Magic has the extra factors making a combo more "complicated" per se to fully account for and pull off. For that reason, I consider Magic a more complex, strategic, and definitely better balanced game. I do still, however, love both games.

I guess it's somewhat understandable that being adept at Magic doesn't transfer over to being adept at YuGiOh, but if you're going to just post a list for fun without looking for any form of advice, you should explicitly make it clear in the original post. People here expect any decklist to be subjected to criticism and critique. If that isn't your intention, make it more clear, otherwise this entire topic is counterproductive to the intent of this subforum.

You said there wasn't any need to give you advice, not that you were specifically not looking for advice, implying that you thought the deck was so refined that it didn't need any improving. The further explanations on card choices, which by the way are close to nonsensical, doesn't help further support your assertion either. It just supports the aforementioned impression. No need to be a smartass about it.

RtR is pretty fun, surprisingly balanced too in my opinion. Control, Aggro, and Midrange are all thriving surprisingly well with Bant/Esper Control topping quite a lot followed by all kinds of Midrange and Zombie variants for aggro.

Regardless of if you want advice or not Sand, this is in the deck discussion thread and people are going to discuss the pro's and con's of the deck.

All I can determine about this is that you should just update it. I'm sure it was a good deck with the limitations you had at the time? But why not make it even better now that some of those limitations that would make this deck a lot bette are out.
