Welcome to the post-season tournament that pits the top teams against each other to determine who is the dominant force on the CEA forums!

This is a single elimination bracket tourney that pits the top teams in a cut-throat competition. A few things set this apart from wars during the regular season:

*The top 2 teams will have BYES in the first round, meaning, they are guaranteed a spot in the Semifinals if there are 8 or less teams or into the Quarterfinals if there are more. Other teams may also have BYES if necessary (having 9 teams creates 7 BYES).
*Each war will be SINGLE ELIMINATION with FIVE hearts (explained later).
*Every war will use a K factor of 25 and every individual match will have a K factor of 20 to highlight the extra significance of a playoff match.
*DP and other rewards for qualifying will be distributed.

Team Eligibility Requirements:

-The team must have the minimum required number of members to function as a team (5)
-Qualifying teams must have the following requirements:
        -Participated in at least 6 wars where the result was not determined by forfeit on either side.
        -The Team must have a rating of at least 1400.00 to qualify.

War Format

Wars will be SINGLE ELIMINATION, 5 HEARTS and will use the FULL ROSTER. They will be done using solely YGOPro using TCG/OCG and the current banlist. Wars will have One Week to be completed. The War threads will be created by the Head War Manager (ChaosSatella).

Inactivity

If one week passes without a team fully eliminated, inactivity penalties of 1 Heart/Inactive Player will be assessed and a winner is decided AFTER they are taken. If the result of the inactive penalties is a 0-0 or less, then the winner will be decided by whichever team had the most active players remaining.

Inactive players are defined as:
-Players who do not log on to the forum and look for a match.
-Players who avoid war matches
-War managers may make considerations when deeming a player inactive.
NOTE: Sickness, vacation, or any otherwise "valid" reasons (basically, things you say to school/work when you're absent) will still result in deeming that player inactive.

Other Rules:
-Rosters are finalized 1 day before the start of the playoffs
-Rosters will be obtained through the first post of qualifying team threads in the Team Bunkers so be sure to update in a timely manner.
-If a new member is added during the playoffs, they will not be allowed to participate in the current playoffs for obvious reasons.
-Use of the Hitman Shop Item is NOT PERMITTED in the playoffs
-Wars that involved at least one qualifying team or a team in their 6th war that did not finish 24 hours before the start of the playoffs will be closed and entered into the rankings for seeding (this will count as a finished war).
-Wars between teams that did not qualify for the playoffs are still allowed, BUT they will NOT be used in determining seasonal rankings; only the career rankings will reflect those wars.

Prizes:

Prizes will be awarded to every player based on their team's final result in the playoffs (Subject to change prior to start of playoffs):

Qualifier: Genesis and Ultimate Legends will receive 50 DP
Quarterfinalist: Phoenix and Relinquished will receive 100 DP
Semi-Finalist: Tenchu Assassins and Dreamstate will receive a "Semi-Finalist" Userbar + 200 DP
Finalist: Toxic Flamingos will receive a "Finalist" Userbar + 300 DP
Winner: LUCK will receive a "Winner" Userbar + 400 DP

These prizes will be given along with the regular war prize amount given as per normal war rules (See war book for details).

There is one week left until the Playoffs. For those trying to qualify, please note the 6-war requirement by the end of the month. Here are the teams that have not qualified:

There are still 6 spots available so all teams can above can qualify, though 3-4 wars in a week might be a stretch. And even if you don't qualify for the playoffs, you're still free to war other teams during the playoffs.

We'll have to see since I haven't finished updating the rankings due to some physical and new computer/OS-based issues. But if you win those wars against Master Mind and ICC pretty decisively, you shouldn't have to worry about it.

In exactly 24 hours, all current wars involving at least 1 playoff-bound team OR a team in their 6th war will be closed to allow for a day to calculate ratings and create the bracket, so please be sure to finish all wars as soon as possible!

Teams that are not qualified for the playoffs are allowed to war each other - they just won't be entered into the seasonal ratings; only the career ratings. Also, all moratoriums on team switching are off for unqualified teams so you can start building your team for next season which kicks off September 1.
