Yu-Gi-Oh! Generation X “Awakening of the Amphibians” Prologue Episode
Our story begins in a city, which is located underneath the Duelist Academy Island. The Duelist Academy, once known as a glorious place for duelists to educate themselves and learn everything about dueling, has now been destroyed by a volcano eruption and wildlife now rules the island.
However, the city underneath the island, called Hidden Constellation, has been untouched by the eruption. It was built by a man named Regis. He contributed to everything the city has: museums, hotels, nightclubs and even a railroad. However, there is something different about Hidden Constellation, different than any other city in the world; It is surrounded by massive stone walls, created specifically to protect it from various natural disasters, such as land sliding.
After the volcano eruption, all life that once roamed the island was forced to move into the depths of it. Now, more than 5000 people live there and despite all the new technologies that the rest of the world uses for food production, entertainment, communication and travelling, these people choose to lead a very simple way of life, using as little technology as possible. They produce their own food and sell it to make money for themselves. Others work on expanding the city underneath the island, as much as possible. Kids go to school, to learn how to make the most out of nature and how to use natural provisions. In addition, most of them also learn about Duel Monsters.
Despite being the main reason the city exists, Regis keeps his identity hidden and has people working for him. He is the only one in the island using high-end technology and it would be safe to say that he rules the city and its citizens.
As of late, Regis and his gang are kept busy by something far more impressive and powerful... The Amphibian cards. It is said that when the volcano erupted, everything on the island was destroyed. However, the three Amphibian cards have survived, and are hidden somewhere in the island. Duelist Academy directors sealed these cards, because they were unsure of their hidden power and the consequences that would follow, should they be used in a duel.
Thousands miles away, Neo Domino City has been informed about these Amphibian cards and has vowed to take them from the island and bring them to a safe place. What they do not know though, is that in the Hidden Constellation city, Regis’ evil organization plans on taking the Amphibian cards too and use them for power.
As the Neo Domino City representatives, led by Antoinette, travel to the island with the help of special badges that detect energy waves through the air, they end up in a massive hurricane, destroying the ship and with that their plans to retrieve the Amphibian Cards. However, not all was lost in this storm. Between the wreckage, broken equipment and the victims afterwards, a select few managed to survive through the hurricane and make their way to the island. Now, without any ways to contact the Neo Domino City’s administration for help, they have to stay united, despite any differences they may have, to face the unknown threat: Regis’ organization, and capture the Amphibian cards.
On the other side, Regis and his crew detected the duelists from Neo Domino as they approached the island, from their badge energy waves. Now that they are aware others are after the rare cards, while the representatives have no clue about Regis and his gang, they have a huge advantage over them and plan to take them out of the picture to make sure there is no competition for the cards. The only problem is, Neo Domino City people cannot be detected by their badges when they are in the city, due to the mixture of energy waves in the island.
While Antoinette and her group still have not realized there is a much bigger threat in the island than the Amphibians, Regis and his gang will try to detect and eliminate from the island each and every Neo Domino City representative.
Who will reign supreme in this ultimate battle of Good vs. Evil? Will Regis eliminate the duelists of Neo Domino City and take control over the Amphibian cards, or will he be defeated? What other twists does fate have in store for our heroes?
