COTW is back, sorry I've just kept procrastinating; but it's Seal of Orichalcos! *Cheers in the background*



All monsters you control gain 500 ATK. Once per turn, this card cannot be destroyed by card effects. While you control 2 or more face-up Attack Position monsters, your opponent cannot target your monster(s) with the lowest ATK for an attack. When this card is activated: Destroy all Special Summoned monsters you control. You cannot Special Summon monsters from your Extra Deck. You can only activate "The Seal of Orichalcos" once per Duel.

Okay, probably the most hyped card recently and I'm sure you've all been waiting for it. Most of us know that in the anime this card was just plain broken, but is the real card comparable to the anime? Now this card has alot of ups and downs.

Firstly, the 500 attack boost cannot be written off as small: using gadgets as an example, this field card alone will give you 1700-1900 attack gadgets and an attack 2400 Rai-Oh; quite a punch. Second, it cannot be destroyed by card effects once per turn; so MST/Heavy won't be able to destroy it. Thirdly, if you have 2 or more monsters your opponent cannot attack your weaker monster. This will also create an attack lock if you have 2 monsters with the same amount of attack points (so your opponent can't attack any of your monsters). Now... time to look at the negatives.

It states that it cannot be destroyed by card effects once per turn: this doesn't mean it cannot be banished, bounced. If your opponent activates their own field spell it'll replace Seal of Orichalcos. Also, it specifies that it cannot be destroyed once per turn, so 2 destruction cards will be able to get rid of it. While this isn't too bad; it leads me to my next point. The Seal of Orichalcos can only be activated once per duel. That means that once it leaves the field it is gone; you cannot use it again. My final point, and probably the most crucial, is that once The Seal of Orichalcos is activated you must destroy all special summoned monsters. Additionally, in today's meta where so many decks rely on Special Summons from the extra deck (XYZ, Synchro), this actually hurts most decks.

The only decks that could run this card efficiently is Anti-Meta and maybe Malefics (which, after testing I have my doubts). Personally, unless you are running Anti-Meta or a deck that doesn't rely on special summons, I would stay away from this card. I forgot to mention this, but one deck that this card will be great for is Earthbound Immortals; doubt they'll ever be more than a fun deck but it's worth a try :p.
